Circular economy that makes you dance

Our tour begins in the depths of Kleinbasel, where mustard and mayonnaise were once produced for the whole of Switzerland - on the site of the former Thomy Franck factory. Today, a creative place for the circular economy and dance is being created here. On a guided tour, we explore the old chicory silos and brainstorm ideas for the resource-saving living, working and dancing of tomorrow.

We cross the Rhine and head towards the French border to the Lottner waste disposal centre. Here we experience the other end of the circular economy: today's recycling industry. Very concrete, very close.

We continue on our bikes towards Dreispitz, once across the city. At Offcut, we browse through the wonderful world of leftover materials. I regularly pop into Offcut myself and always leave the place full of ideas for new sewing and craft projects - and with a basket full of materials that you probably wouldn't find anywhere else. At Industry night, we can get started straight away and make our own creations on the spot from old postcards, fabric patches and glitter yarn.

We close the circle of dance and the circular economy just a few steps further - with good music at the Unikom radio station Radio X. The most beautiful radio studio in the city combines music away from the mainstream with valuable journalistic training and intercultural co-operation. And anyone suffering from world-weariness after the abundance and mountains of rubbish can dance it off at Radio X.
