About Franck Areal
A centre for social innovation, sustainability, and inspiration is being created on the Franck site on the edge of the Klybeck district. With its four areas of development –Tanzhaus (a centre for contemporary dance), Kreislaufhaus (a space promoting a circular economy), Quartier (a city and neighbourhood meeting place), and Wohnen (a sustainable housing project) – the former industrial site is being transformed into a lively and versatile hub for people from the neighbourhood, the city of Basel, and beyond.
A central component of the site’s development is its holistic approach to sustainability, which encompasses ecology, economy, and social issues. Some buildings are already being put to use, while others are still being converted for their future purposes.
