Tour suggestion by Willi Näf

Roll up your sleeves and roll out the dough.
We’re truly spoilt for choice this Industrienacht! I’ll probably be on the C-line shuttle because there are various things on that route that I’m interested in. Depending on how it goes, I might also make a detour and see two great events on the B-line shuttle.
Shuttle C: At 5:15pm and 6:15pm, there’s a studio tour at Radio X. Radio is still my current medium of choice, and I am keen to find out what the technology can do now. This is a must for me. The OSLO Studios are also on the C-line shuttle. Here, you can go on a cinema studio tour and check out film production.
Continuing on shuttle C: I ask myself year in and year out how the sensational and highly complex Swiss public transport system is organised. So, of course, I’m interested in the SBB train control and locomotive simulator. You can take hold of the wheel yourself and keep the trains running smoothly – or not!
Ricola is a must for me, especially the candy-making demo. KULT and Sutter Begg bakeries will also offer a number of demonstrations and workshops that let you try your hand at baking. I’ll most likely stop by Sutter Beg. If you’re travelling on shuttle A, then I recommend KULT bakery.
I’ll make two more stops, travelling on shuttle B. There’s a company called Artidis in Stücki Park that’s new to me. Every half hour, they’re talking about how AI can help make medical diagnoses. The presentation will be in English.
One more note on traffic and the complexity of the B-line shuttles: It feels like there are millions of construction sites on roads in Basel. Beneath these roads, millions of pipes transport water, energy, and internet cables. Amazingly, it seems like these connections are never damaged. I might try to find out how the builders manage this at IWB in Kleinhünigen on the tour "The Power Supplies Underneath Us".
Actually, I’d also like to attend "The Potential of Quantum Technology" by QuantumBasel just because I know nothing about it! But I’d like to learn who can use quantum technology as well as where, when, with whom, and for what purpose. I also want to know what I, as an average citizen, might ultimately gain from it. I’ll have to switch to shuttle D for that – I don’t know if I’ll have enough time for everything. I’m telling you: we’re spoilt for choice!
