About SBB
Swiss Federal Railways (die Schweizerischen Bundesbahnen), or SBB for short, transport over 1.32 million passengers and 175,000 tonnes of goods to their destinations every day. The company employs 35,000 people, from shunters to customer attendants. Over the past few decades, the Basel service centre has become a central hub for the maintenance of various trains. Nearly 2 years ago, the facility was expanded to provide SBB with more space for efficient work in the future.
