Coinciding with Woche der Berufsbildung (Vocational Training Week), this year’s Industry Night once more features activities designed specifically for young people, children, and families. My tour starts at Endress+Hauser in Reinach, a family business that operates on a global scale. You’ll have an exclusive opportunity to peek behind the scenes into its production facilities, offices, and training workshop. Experience how a family business can combine state-of-the-art technology with social values and responsibility. Visit the training-themed island to find out about exciting professional fields and career opportunities. This is ideal for anyone taking the first step into their professional future and interested in training opportunities.

My journey continues to Selmoni in Münchenstein. This is another training company in Basel. Selmoni provides training for six exciting professions – from automation technology and electrical planning to IT building. Experience a rush of adrenaline at Industry Night with the fascinating world of virtual reality. This immersive experience allows you to create light images and go on a virtual treasure hunt. 3D printing will also be brought to life at this event – a highlight for visitors of all ages, with the opportunity to touch, explore, and marvel at this fascinating technology up close.

The last stop on my tour takes me to Radio X in the middle of Dreispitz. Interns, students, and apprentices are closely involved in the Basel youth and culture station’s daily program. Here, budding media professionals can gain first-hand journalistic experience. Radio X is also a cooperation partner of the Canton of Basel-Landschaft for the Vocational Training Week, focusing on vocational training in the region for five days. At Industry Night, you can experience how Radio X’s live broadcasts are created. Find out more about how radio is made in today’s world.
