Vocational Training Week
Industry night in the evening, family events during the day: From 5 to 10 May the Vocational Training Week takes place. Parents and their children can gain their first exciting insights into career choices, training paths and career organisation at numerous events. The family events offer parents and children from 4th to 6th primary school the opportunity to explore the world of work in a company together - in a practical and interactive way: they can develop an advertising campaign in a sports shop, make sausages in a butcher's shop or try out a haircut on a styling head. Among the highlights are the four mini taster apprenticeships at the Baselland career centre in Pratteln, where children can get to know four different professions, arouse their curiosity and discover new things.
For parents, the Vocational Training Week offers the opportunity to accompany their children on their journey of discovery and to get to know their interests and talents better. Through the shared experience, parents can support their children more specifically in their choice of career and talk to them about what they have learnt.
The canton of Basel-Landschaft organises the family events together with the canton of Basel-Stadt. Families can register for events in both cantons regardless of where they live. The Vocational Training Week is actively supported by the Basel Chamber of Commerce, main sponsor of the Industry Night Regio Basel, among others.
