IVB Behindertentransport has been a partner of this exciting event since the very first Industrienacht Basel. We operate a shuttle service for people with reduced mobility, thereby enabling many people to attend this special event in the first place. As a self-help organisation for people with disabilities and impairments, it is important to us that social participation is possible at events such as this.

At Industry Night 2026, we will also be offering our own IVB tour. This tour is open to anyone interested. Visitors without mobility impairments are also very welcome. In selecting the stops, we have deliberately chosen topics that shape our everyday lives and our society.

The number of participants is limited to 14. Please register using this form: https://forms.gle/3z8KHzP6VyZi2Muy9.

The tour starts at 5.00 pm at the BusHub Messeplatz. We’ll reach the first stop, the dandelion Pflegezentrum, by 5.15 pm. During the session ‘Everyday Life with Dementia’, participants will learn more about living with dementia, find out about the services offered by the care centre, and have the opportunity to ask questions. The tour continues at 6.00 pm.

We will arrive at Industriellen Werken Basel IWB at 6.15 pm. There, at 6.30 pm, we will attend the tour on ‘District Heating Technology and Maintenance’. Visitors will gain an insight into the city’s district heating supply and the technology behind it. We will leave at 7.30 pm.

The third stop is the Lottner Recycling Park. We arrive at 7.45 pm. At 8.00 pm, we will attend the tour entitled ‘Consequences of the Circular Economy’. This will demonstrate how recycling works and the contribution a waste management company makes to the sustainable use of resources. We will continue at 9.00 pm.

We arrive at the Bürgerspital Basel at 9.10 pm. During the tour ‘The Working Environments of the BSB’, we will explore various departments, including media, production and technology, the joinery workshop and catering services. If there is enough time, you will also have the opportunity to design and print your own T-shirt. We are scheduled to leave at 10.00 pm.

The final stop is the Swiss Nanoscience Institute. We will arrive there between 10.10 pm and 10.15 pm. During the ‘Your Experiment’ workshop, participants will be introduced to the world of nanoscience through a series of fascinating experiments. The return journey will depart at 11.15 pm. We are scheduled to arrive back at the BusHub Messeplatz at 11.30 pm.

I hope lots of visitors will join us on this special tour.
