About Swiss Nanoscience Institute
The Swiss Nanoscience Institute (SNI) at the University of Basel is the leading centre of excellence for nanoscience and nanotechnology in north-western Switzerland. Working in interdisciplinary teams, the SNI researches phenomena in the field of nanometres and develops applications and new materials for fields such as life sciences, energy, and quantum technology. In the Nano Imaging Lab, state-of-the-art electron, ion, and powerful microscopy techniques provide high-resolution insights into innovative materials, biological systems, and functional nanostructures. The Nano Fabrication Lab provides the infrastructure for the manufacture of complex nano- and microsystems using cleanroom technologies such as precision nano structuring. Both laboratories work closely with industry partners and promote technology transfer for innovations that extend far beyond the borders of north-western Switzerland.
