About Christoph Merian Stiftung
The Christoph Merian Foundation (CMS) is a non-profit, public-sector foundation based in Basel. It is politically and religiously independent. It supports projects and institutions in the areas of social affairs, culture, nature and urban living.
Together with the Merian Gardens, Dreispitz represents some of the original land of CMS. Christoph Merian used this land for agriculture 200 years ago. A century ago, Dreispitz was then used as a material storage area and later as a bonded warehouse. Today, CMS is developing the 50-hectare industrial area into a new district with housing, green spaces, educational and cultural institutions.
