Looking for Your Dream Job?
Still unsure about your career path or struggling to pick an industry? Get hands-on guidance—with guaranteed fun—at the Industry Night Regio Basel. This is your chance to dive into a fascinating variety of work environments and connect with ease to innovative employers.
The 50 participating companies give you a behind-the-scenes look right there on site – in a welcoming, exciting and impressive way, you’ll get a first-hand feel for day-to-day business and can get a sense of the atmosphere at your chosen workplace. Unlike a careers fair, the various companies present themselves up close at the Industry Night – right where research, development and production take place, where people work and live, and where corporate culture is nurtured. An eventful evening is guaranteed – the perfect setting for finding your dream job. To help you get your bearings, we’ve put together a brief overview of the sectors represented below:
The life sciences are the most significant economic sector in the Basel region. Companies in this sector operate at the intersection of medicine, biology, chemistry, technology and the environment. They develop medicines, research health risks, manufacture prosthetics and much more. With Medartis, Roche, Novartis, Bayer Switzerland, Lonza, Labor Rothen and ten23 health, no fewer than seven companies from this sector will be taking part in the Industry Night – a great opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at the day-to-day workings of laboratories and medical technology. If you’re interested in studying science, we recommend a visit to the Department of Physics or the Swiss Nanoscience Institute.

Another highly sought-after career field is electrical and building services engineering. At the Industry Night, you can explore this sector from a wide range of perspectives: jobs and courses packed with high-tech innovation await you at ETAVIS, Selmoni and JETZ Youth Technology Lab. Another sector has also become largely electrified: transport and logistics. During Industry Night, you can experience Basel as a transport hub at a number of locations: at SBB, BVB, Felix Transport and various companies in the Swiss Rhine ports of Kleinhüningen and Birsfelden.

If you’re more into craft work, then pop along to Tschudin, Götschi and Knörndel. Do you love all sorts of delicacies? The region’s food industry has plenty to offer: whether it’s savoury pastries, fizzy drinks or fresh coffee, there’s plenty to discover – and try – at the Industry Night. Delica, Birtel Biermanufaktur, Sutter Begg, vinigma and Volta Bräu look forward to your visit.
Are you interested in architecture and urban development? Then do pop along to the Franck Areal, the Stücki Park, the Alti Papieri or the Walzwerk.

To ensure that everything runs smoothly in our region, that Basel remains an attractive destination and that the infrastructure meets the needs of the population, organisations such as SBB, BVB, Swisscom and IWB – which provide drinking water and energy supplies – as well as MCH, which offers a range of event services, all play their part. Companies in the waste management and construction sectors also make a significant contribution to the smooth running of our community. At the Industry Night, you can find out more about the principles of sustainable circular economies at Waser Entsorgung, Lottner and Offcut – and perhaps discover exciting careers in a sector that is so vital for the future.
