I would definitely recommend a visit to the life sciences hub in Bubendorf. Over the last few years, impressive companies such as Bachem, CARBOGEN AMCIS and CIS Biopharma have set up in the southern part of the town – companies you wouldn’t expect to find here.

At Renata in Itingen, micro-batteries are manufactured in huge quantities for the global market. Here, you can see for yourself how such large-scale production can be carried out competitively right here in Switzerland.

And finally, later in the evening, I recommend a visit to Metzgerhuus Stadt und Land. A year ago, not only was a regionally focused abattoir established here, but also an innovative shop that is open 365 days a year and stocks not only fresh meat but also a wide range of regional specialities.
