An evening for the whole family

Finally get to drive a real digger yourself, tinker with pipettes and test tubes in the lab, or pedal away to generate electricity. On Friday 18 September 2026, the Industry Night will transform workshops, labs and building sites into worlds of adventure for families with children. Here’s an overview:

Great fun is guaranteed at Garage Keigel: here, children can paint and customise a vehicle in the spirit of ‘Pimp my Ride’, have a go on the wheel of fortune and be entertained by a children’s entertainer. Those who prefer a more laid-back atmosphere can play games in the Retro Game Lounge at the Lachmatt site. There are various consoles to discover there, from arcade machines to the Nintendo 64.

Children can let their creative juices flow at the Lausenerstrasse: at Wahl Glas- und Metallbau, they can weld rose vases under expert guidance. At the Büchi joinery workshop, they can take their first steps in one of the most stylish trades of all. The welded rose vase and the wooden piece they’ve made can be taken home. And at Lichterloh, young and old alike come together to create a light art installation.

Children can slip on a lab coat at Bachem and CARBOGEN AMCIS. Here, they can carry out experiments, be amazed and have their spirit of discovery sparked. It’s the perfect opportunity for the whole family to explore modern laboratories together, full of ‘aha’ moments

The fascination of a building site comes to life at the tozzo group and Welti-Furrer: here, children can drive excavators and dumpers themselves, operate a real crane and watch as heavy machinery weighing several tonnes is moved. There’s plenty to marvel at at Planzer Transport too: the logistics giant is showcasing modern lorries and vintage vehicles well worth seeing. With virtual reality headsets, children can even experience a day in the life of a driver.

Where does energy come from? How do electricity and heat reach our homes? EBL provides clear answers for young and old alike and brings the world of energy to life. Children can build their own wind turbine and discover how renewable energy is generated. Or, at Etavis Kriegel+Co., they can pedal hard on the ‘electric bike’ to make energy visible.
