About Gundeldinger Feld
Gundeldinger Feld is a showcase project for the innovative and functional conversion of former industrial sites. In 1999, Maschinenfabrik Sulzer Burckhardt AG decided to move from Basel to Oberwinterthur and sell the factory premises in Gundeldingen. The five initiators Barbara Buser, Eric Honegger, Irene Wigger, Matthias Scheurer and Pascal Biedermann founded the company Kantensprung AG for the conversion project, which developed the 12,000 m2 area into a highly frequented district centre. Today, over 70 tenants bring new life to the seven halls and eight buildings. Around 200 people work in offices and workshops during the day. Numerous leisure facilities, restaurants, a beer brewery, a hostel and cultural offers have also helped Gundeldinger Feld become known and popular far beyond the city limits.
