Drive a dumper, deliver a parcel virtually, experiment in laboratories:

The programme for the Industry Night Regio Liestal is online. On 18 September, visitors can embark on 100 adventures: spectacular tours, hands-on challenges and opportunities to chat with experts. From 5 pm to midnight, 29 workplaces across various sectors will offer fascinating insights into their everyday work, from Liestal to Sissach and Bubendorf, and, for the first time, in Pratteln too.
29 working worlds, 100 adventures
With 100 programme items, the Industry Night has something exciting in store for everyone. Among the highlights are the behind-the-scenes tours: at Bachem and CARBOGEN AMCIS, visitors can explore the life sciences laboratories and learn how active ingredients are produced. In the impressive halls of IKEA, Planzer Transport and Swiss Post, the vast world of logistics comes to life. At Rauscher & Stoecklin, we’ll take a look inside a transformer; at Renata, we’ll see how the iconic microbatteries are produced; and at Lichterloh, we’ll visit a lighting workshop. Unser Bier is opening the doors to its brewery, the Metzgerhuus provides insights into its new facility, and Marquis Kanalservice offers a tour of its waste treatment plant, where over 30,000 tonnes of sludge are recycled every year.
At the Industry Night, visitors can also get hands-on experience of a wide range of professions: at the Büchi joinery workshop, wooden items are crafted; at Etavis, electrical switches are assembled; and at Wahl Glas- und Metallbau, rose vases are welded. Adventure seekers can drive a dumper or excavator at the tozzo group, take a seat in the crane cab at Welti-Furrer, and at the Keigel and P. Schweizer garages, customise a vehicle or put their skills to the test in the wheel-changing challenge. Many of the participating companies are apprenticeship providers. The Industry Night is a great opportunity for young people to get to know different careers in a relaxed setting and to spark their interest – from chemical laboratory assistants and electrical engineers to carpenters.
“The programme for this year’s Industry Night Regio Liestal impressively demonstrates just how diverse, innovative and vibrant our economy is. It offers fascinating insights into the working environments that shape our region and which are otherwise rarely experienced so directly. As the main sponsor, we are delighted to promote dialogue between the business community and the public and to showcase what our companies do for the region on a daily basis.”
– Elisabeth Schneider-Schneiter, President of the Basel Chamber of Commerce
“As a company with roots in the Basel region, we are delighted to be part of the Industry Night Regio Liestal again in 2026. The event brings industry and society together and offers a rare glimpse into working environments that would otherwise remain hidden from view. Together with our staff, we bring to life the process by which active ingredients are developed in Bubendorf for the benefit of patients worldwide.”
– André Casagrande, Site Manager at Bachem Bubendorf
Premieres at the Industry Night
15 companies are taking part in the Industry Night for the very first time. Among other things, visitors will now be able to gain insights into the energy supply sector (EBL), a key organisation for integration in the region (ESB) and the Lachmatt site in Pratteln. On this site, various companies operate side by side and are opening their doors together for the first time, ranging from a printing works to a data centre to a car upholstery workshop.

“Ever since the first edition in 2022, Industry Night has been a fixed date in my diary. Experiencing our innovative companies at first hand is incredibly exciting. It’s brilliant that businesses in Baselland are opening their doors, bringing together the public, industry and the business community for a special exchange. I’m looking forward to lots of encounters, a varied programme and a wide range of insights into the working worlds of our region!”
– Anton Lauber, Member of the Cantonal Government of Basel-Landschaft
“The Industry Night Regio Liestal 2026 offers an opportunity to discover the dynamic and diverse industrial activity in the canton of Basel-Landschaft. For the second time, SMEs are opening their doors to provide future apprentices, employees’ family members, as well as customers and suppliers, with valuable insights into their businesses.”
– Thomas Kübler, Head of Business Development for Baselland
