7 municipalities, 30 companies
Following the success of the inaugural event in 2024 (4,000 visitors), the Industry Night Regio Liestal 2026 offers another tour of the local working worlds. Shuttle buses connect companies across seven municipalities: Liestal, Bubendorf, Itingen, Sissach and, for the first time, Pratteln, Füllinsdorf and Lausen. The sectors represented are as diverse as the venues themselves: the spectrum ranges from life sciences and electrical engineering to logistics. In addition, various craft businesses will be opening their doors.
Life Sciences Cluster of international significance
Hardly any other place in the Basel region has undergone such a significant transformation in recent decades as the southern outskirts of Bubendorf. A major life sciences cluster with a global reach has emerged along the main road. During the Industry Night, the cluster opens the doors to its laboratories. Bachem offers insights into the manufacture of peptides and oligonucleotides, CARBOGEN AMCIS into the development and production of active ingredients, and CIS Biopharma into the future of cancer treatment.
“As the main sponsor, we are proud that so many companies are getting involved in the Industry Night and opening their doors. This commitment brings the diverse working worlds in the region to life, fosters interaction between businesses and the local community, and vividly demonstrates the diversity, strength and innovative power of the regional economy.”
– Andreas Meier, Deputy Director of the Basel Chamber of Commerce
“We are delighted to be taking part in the Industry Night once again and to open our doors to anyone interested. The Industry Night offers the opportunity to provide fascinating insights into our world of drug development and production, to encourage direct dialogue with the public, and to highlight the diverse career opportunities within our industry. As an employer with strong regional roots, it is important to us to bring our working environment as a pharmaceutical service provider to life, whilst at the same time putting the people at the centre – those whose daily dedication and expertise underpin our work.”
– Carl Baker, Vice President Business Unit Drug Substance CARBOGEN AMCIS AG

Goods in transit, electricity flowing
Swiss Post, Planzer Transport and IKEA take us on a tour of their impressive warehouses, where countless orders are processed and dispatched every day. At the tozzo group, visitors can marvel at large construction machines – and even operate them themselves. Rauscher & Stoecklin opens up the transformer and demonstrates the importance of these voltage converters for a functioning infrastructure. At EBL and Etavis, we can discover how electri- city and heat reach our homes. Meanwhile, Renata shows how it produces a million of those button cells every day that keep our watches ticking and have also become indispensable in medical technology.
“Exactly 40 years ago, the IKEA warehouse in Itingen opened its doors and has since become known as the striking blue box situated along the railway line between Liestal and Sissach. Following our first participation in the Industry Night 2024, this year we are showcasing the progress we have made since then in modernisation and automation. On the IKEA Trail, visitors discover the latest innovations in logistics in a fun and interactive way.”
– IKEA AG, Itingen
“Taking part in the Industry Night is a great opportunity for us to introduce our company to people in the region. Many people are familiar with our lorries, parcel vans or our site in Pratteln, but few know what goes on behind the scenes. We offer visitors a glimpse behind the scenes and show them just how exciting the world of transport and logistics is.”
– Planzer Transport AG, Pratteln
From the print shop to the joinery
Visitors can also get a taste of various trades: at the Büchi joinery, the Unser Bier brewery, the Miru-Clean cleaning company, or the Keigel and P. Schweizer garages. At Wahl Glas- und Metallbau, rose vases are welded; at CWL, T-shirts are printed; at Michel Krantrans, cranes are operated; at INRA, pipes are precisely bent; and at Lichterloh, light artworks are created. Several companies are showcasing their work at the Lachmatt site, ranging from the Gremper print shop to the Eco Prawn farm. Formex takes us into the decorative world of wooden fronts, Di Lello demonstrates its pizza ovens and Marquis Kanalservice shows how road sludge is properly disposed of. The animal crematorium offers an insight into the cremation process, Thingware explains the IoT (Internet of Things) to interested visitors and the Metzgerhuus offers guided tours of its premises.
Strong partnerships: A big thank you to our sponsors
The Verein Industrienacht Basel would like to thank its main sponsor, the Basel Chamber of Commerce, as well as its sponsors Bachem and CARBOGEN AMCIS for their commitment and outstanding cooperation. The Industry Night Regio Liestal 2026 would not be possible without the active support of its sponsors.
