The next Industry Night will take place on Friday, 24 April 2026. Around 50 companies will provide exclusive insights into their day-to-day work from 5 pm to midnight. Visitors can roll up their sleeves in hands-on workshops, and chat with industry experts about training and job opportunities. Discounted early bird tickets are available until the end of the year. The programme will be published in March 2026.

After four successful editions since 2022, with 16,000 visitors this year, the Industry Night offers next year another opportunity to take a look behind the scences, and discover the diversity of the Basel economic region. Working worlds from various sectors will open their doors for one night, from the food industry to logistics, electrical engineering and life sciences to architecture. We will learn how medicines are developed, goods are handled on a large scale, buildings are made ‘smart’ – and much more.

National logistics cluster

Spectacular experiences are guaranteed at the Port of Switzerland, a significant national hub for imports and exports. At the port of Kleinhüningen, Contargo, Rhenus Port Logistics, Swissterminal and Ultra-Brag provide insights into the impressive world of logistics. At the port of Birsfelden, Delica shows how large quantities of coffee are produced and shipped every day. We experience the flow of goods on the road at Felix Transport in Arlesheim, and the transport of goods and passengers by rail at SBB and BVB. Meanwhile, at the IWB depot, we can see how electricity, water, heat and data circulate beneath the ground.

Global centre for life sciences

Visitors can also explore the many facets of life sciences, especially at Roche, Novartis and Bayer, three of the world's leading life sciences companies. Medartis, a leading global orthopaedic company, will offer insights into the development and production of implants and its spectacular anatomy laboratory. For the first time at an Industry Night, the Rothen laboratory in the city centre and the young company ten23 health on the Rosental site will also be presenting themselves.

Tailor-made from the region

Visitors can also immerse themselves in various crafts: at the Tschudin carpentry workshop, the Sutter Begg bakery, the Bürgerspital machine park, the Theater Basel workshop and the Birtel and Volta Bräu breweries. Another newcomer at Industry Night is Optiswiss, a manufacturer of spectacle lenses. The company produces here in the region, on the Dreispitz site.

Innovative sites

There are many sites undergoing transformation in our region: former marshalling yards, disused factories, abandoned duty-free warehouses. At Industry Night, we see how these sites are being repurposed. At Alti Papieri, the Walzwerk and the Franck Areal, diverse spaces for commerce, craftsmanship and culture are being created. Meanwhile, at Stücki Park, research, development and production are taking place in a wide variety of fields. Door to door, solutions for the energy transition and new cancer treatments are being developed there.

Statements

“The Industry Night is a welcome opportunity to connect the classroom with the world of work. It offers new insights into companies, industries, professions and, more generally, Basel and the surrounding area as a place of work. The experiences gained can be incorporated into lessons later on and broaden the horizons of both pupils and teachers. If the Industry Night didn't already exist, it would have to be invented immediately.”
– Daniel Fasnacht, Economics and Law Teacher, Muttenz Grammar School and FMS

“Our entrepreneurs make a decisive contribution to the strength of our country. They create jobs, train young people and take responsibility for society and the environment. The Industry Night impressively demonstrates how much innovative power there is in our economy and our region.
– Daniela Schneeberger, Member of the National Council for the Canton of Basel-Landschaft

We are delighted to be opening our doors to visitors for the fourth time as part of Industry Night. ETAVIS Kriegel+Schaffner AG offers exciting insights into the fascinating world of electrical and building technology. Electricity is an indispensable part of our everyday lives, and we ensure that it flows safely and reliably.
– ETAVIS Kriegel+Schaffner

The transport and logistics industry moves the world, and we want to bring that to life. We have been participating since the first Industry Night in 2022 and showcase the diversity of our activities: from planning, technology and the vehicle fleet to the people behind it all. It is particularly important to us to engage with prospective apprentices – we want to inspire them with the exciting world of transport and logistics and show them the diverse training and career opportunities our industry offers.
– Fabian Felix, Managing Director, Felix Transport

Four Industry Nights in our region over the past four years. 42,500 interested visitors and 121,000 exciting encounters. A fantastic and important exchange between businesses and the public. We are proud to have been involved in the Industry Nights from the very beginning as a founding partner and main sponsor. And to contribute to mutual understanding between business and society.
– Andreas Meier, Deputy Director of the Basel Chamber of Commerce

“The Industry Night is a great platform for sharing our enthusiasm for our work with the Basel public. Visitors can learn what it takes to supply Basel with climate-friendly electricity, heat, water and data. We particularly enjoy showcasing our district heating expansion project.
– Claus Schmidt, CEO IWB

Strong partnerships

The Basel Industry Night Association would like to thank its main sponsor, the Basel Chamber of Commerce, as well as its sponsors IWB, Roche, Novartis, Medartis and Stücki Park for their commitment and outstanding cooperation. The Industry Night Regio Basel 2026 would not be possible without the active support of its sponsors.
