Port, warehouses, network – the economic history of Basel

What lies behind Basel as a business hub? The podcast “Überall Geschichte!” sets out to uncover the story in three episodes.

To mark Industry Night on 24 April, “Überall Geschichte!” takes a closer look at the economic history of its home city. During Industry Night, 50 companies from the region will open their doors to offer insights that would otherwise be impossible to gain. Over the coming weeks, “Überall Geschichte!” will look at three locations where global developments can be observed at a local level: the Rhine harbour as a transhipment point for goods from all over the world, the Dreispitz site as a place of storage and its subsequent history – and finally the distribution network that moves raw materials, goods and parcels.

The first episode will be released on Wednesday 18 March.
