The extensive programme for the Industry Night 2026 demonstrates just how diverse the economy of the Basel-Landschaft region is. This is a major asset and forms the basis for prosperity in our region. The regional economy is very close to our hearts and, as a bank, we contribute to balanced economic and social development in north-western Switzerland.

For young people, the Industry Night is also an ideal opportunity to gain an insight into the world of work – from traditional crafts to high-tech industries. And for those who are already in work, it is a great chance to get to know interesting potential employers or simply to broaden their horizons.

My tour starts at EBL. As a forward-looking bank, the issue of energy is very important to us. That’s why I’d definitely recommend popping into EBL to find out more about this fascinating field. Questions about renewable energy and the future of energy in general will become even more important in the years to come.

Next up is the Büchi joinery workshop. Here, high-tech meets traditional craftsmanship. It’s fascinating and well worth a visit. What’s more, wood is a sustainable material. This fits in well with the refurbishment of our headquarters in Liestal, where we’ll be adding another storey to our building using a timber structure.

My third stop is at the ESB. As a foundation, the ESB ensures that there are training opportunities and jobs for people who are currently struggling in the open labour market and rely on support. Such opportunities are very important, which is why the BLKB works in partnership with the ESB. Do pop in and get to know the ESB.

Next, I’m off to Bubendorf: Bachem is a biotech company in the Basel area. It’s fascinating and very encouraging to see how successful a company from Bubendorf has become on the global market. The company offers many exciting apprenticeships and specialist roles. It’s definitely worth a visit.

I make my penultimate stop in Füllinsdorf: the Metzgerhuus, founded by five families of butchers, is a prime example of how local structures and regional cooperation work, resulting in short transport routes. The Metzgerhuus and its shop are well worth a visit – as are the burgers and sausages from the barbecue stall.

I round off my tour at Unser Bier. Based in Liestal, this brewery is the regional answer to global beer brands. On a warm late-summer evening, insights into the art of brewing blend with the finale of the Industry Night, accompanied by beer, pretzels and other snacks.

The Industrienacht Basel association would like to take this opportunity to express its sincere thanks to the BLKB-Stiftung für Kultur und Bildung for its generous support of the Industry Night Regio Liestal 2026. Among other things, the BLKB-Stiftung für Kultur und Bildung supports projects aimed at promoting STEM skills in the canton of Basel-Landschaft.
