Discovery tour of Basel's working world
Basel is one of the most dynamic economic regions in Switzerland. Numerous innovative start-ups, SMEs and large companies are based here. More than 50 of them open their doors to the general public and offer a colourful programme during the Industry Night. Visitors can explore the inner workings of a gravel plant (KIBAG) or pumping station (IWB), experience the energy transition (ETAVIS) and the circular economy (Lottner), immerse themselves in virtual working environments (SKAN) and discover the latest technologies (Selmoni) or test their own senses against state-of-the-art sensors (Endress+Hauser). You can also try your hand at many locations, for example as a baker (Bäckerei KULT, Sutter Begg), a programmer (Actemium, JETZ), an excavator driver (Ultra-Brag) or a lorry driver (Felix Transport).

The tours also promise exclusive insights, for example through carpentry workshops (Tschudin, Voellmy), container terminals (Contargo), the BVB service centre, the Birtel brewery or the companies that have earned Basel the reputation of a world-leading life sciences cluster (including Bayer, Medartis, Novartis, Roche). There will also be an opportunity to take a look behind the scenes at various sites in the region, including Dreispitz, Stücki Park and the Franck Areal.

"On Industry Night, we show all interested parties right to the heart of Basel's drinking water supply: The Lange Erlen pumping station. We will show how the Rhine’s water is turned into drinking water and how it reaches Basel’s households. We look forward to this glimpse behind the scenes and to sharing our passion for this precious elixir of life with all visitors."
